JIS G4305 SUS304 stainless steel pipe
304 stainless steel pipe is a stainless steel containing 18-20% chromium (Cr) and 8-10.5% nickel (Ni), often called austenitic stainless steel. Chromium is the main element that forms the passivation layer of stainless steel, making the metal corrosion-resistant. The addition of nickel enhances the stability of the austenite structure and improves high-temperature oxidation resistance, making the steel resistant to stress corrosion cracking.
For situations where stretch forming is required, a lower nickel content (8%) may be more appropriate, as nickel affects the formability of the steel to some extent. In processes that require deep drawing, a higher nickel content (9% or higher) is more conducive to improving the formability of the steel.
In addition, A213 TP304 steel pipe may contain other chemicals, but these substances are below the maximum allowable levels. However, it should be noted that in 304H, due to the increase in carbon content (minimum 0.04%, maximum 0.10%), its mechanical properties and processing properties may vary. For drawn tubes, the maximum carbon content is 0.04%.
